Heather Grant, Senior Property Manager for Edge, has earned her Certified Property Manager (CPM) designation from the Institute of Real Estate Management (IREM), an international group consisting of more than 20,000 commercial real estate property and asset managers. Ms. Grant has worked for Edge, a full-service commercial real estate firm with offices in Washington D.C., Virginia, Maryland and Pennsylvania, for the past two years and has nearly 10 years of diversified experience in the industry.

Professionals must have three years of experience to apply for the CPM designation and are required to complete eight certification courses providing core competency knowledge, as well as successfully pass a two-part exam. The process typically takes approximately two years to complete.

“It was extremely important for me to take this next step in my professional career and to demonstrate my passion for continued education to our owners and tenants, as well as my peer group and colleagues at Edge,” stated Heather Grant. “Armed with increased knowledge and critical tools that help streamline my duties, as well as gaining a different understanding of the industry from an ownership perspective, the CPM designation assists me in almost every aspect of my daily functions. Most importantly, the deep dive of information and application to challenges our team faces every day, heightens the quality of services we provide to our clients.”

Prior to joining Edge, Ms. Grant held property management positions with Kenwood Management Company, HSU Development, Hy-Tech Property Services and CNL Financial Group. She earned a Bachelor of Fine Arts degree in Interior Design from Cazenovia College.

“Heather epitomizes the spirit and enthusiasm of our entire team to increase their skill-set, industry knowledge and overall understanding of property management principles and best practices to better serve our diverse client base,” explained Christina Martin, Director of Property Management for Edge. “She consistently impresses with her ability to problem-solve, show leadership and provide mentorship support to our professionals. Earning designations such as these demonstrate our commitment to our craft and our clients, as well as providing the opportunity to assume leadership positions with our respected industry associations and groups.”
