JLL has promoted Mary Oppel as regional operations manager for its New Jersey property management business. In her new role, Oppel will position the firm’s property management group to be more responsive to changes in the Garden State’s real estate market by providing a combination of solutions that go beyond traditional operational management strategies.

Oppel has more than 15 years of experience in business and property management, and is highly skilled in operations, financial performance of commercial office assets, strategic planning and management. Oppel’s new responsibilities include elevating JLL’s service delivery throughout the Garden State, identifying new opportunities to add value for clients and expanding the firm’s existing property management portfolio. Oppel reports to Terry Harris, managing director and COO of the firm’s suburban tri-state and Northeast Industrial Region operations.

“JLL continues to promote diversity with the organization and Mary Oppel has proven to be a tremendous asset to JLL in the New Jersey market,” said Harris. “She has been a crucial member of the property management team and her efforts have won the firm a number of high-profile property management assignments.”

Prior to joining JLL, Oppel served as vice president of business development with Quantex Laboratories Inc., where she was responsible for the firm’s business strategy, new business initiatives, and client management and engagement. Earlier, she was an assistant property manager with Hines, overseeing property management efforts for real estate assets valued $1 billion, including two of the international real estate firm’s main New York trophy assets —425 Lexington Avenue and 499 Park Avenue.

Before that, Oppel worked as a portfolio coordinator and assistant general manager with SL Green Realty Trust, overseeing a 4 million-square-foot portfolio of New York office properties. She also served as salesperson with luxury residential developer Toll Brothers on its Maxwell Place residential property in Hoboken, N.J.

Oppel received a bachelor’s degree from Rutgers University. She is a licensed real estate salesperson in the state of New Jersey.

JLL is a leader in the northern/central New Jersey commercial real estate market, with more than 1,000 professionals and support staff providing agency leasing and property marketing, tenant representation, industrial services, strategic consulting, occupancy planning, workplace strategies, project and development services, property and facility management, and investment sales/capital markets services to New Jersey's leading corporate tenants, investors and landlords. The firm, which assists clients from three full-service offices in Parsippany, Iselin (Metropark) and East Rutherford, also acts as a local service provider for JLL’s global and national corporate clients in need of real estate assistance in New Jersey. JLL’s New Jersey operations were honored by NJBiz magazine as one of its 2015 Best Places to Work in New Jersey.
