Kimmerle Group (KG), a multifaceted design, real estate, planning, development and branding practice with offices in New York and New Jersey, announces the hiring of Michael Azarian, AIA, LEED AP, who joins as Managing Director of the firm’s Health Care Studio. Azarian has more than 35 years of experience in the healthcare construction industry and takes a senior leadership role in the firm’s expansion of its services for the health industry.
Heading Kimmerle’s Health Care Studio, Azarian will expand the firm’s healthcare practice throughout New York and New Jersey and beyond, with a focus on Primary to Tertiary Care Trauma main frames, as well as enhancing the design of off-campus medical office buildings, and outpatient care centers. Services address ground up construction and existing building renovations, as well as serving as a liaison between the architect and the owner. He will oversee and coordinate all efforts of the firm’s healthcare project team, ensuring that the owner’s project goals are being met as well as ensuring that each project is properly staffed.

Michael Azarian has served on the New York Chapter AIA Health Facilities Committee. In addition, Azarian has held a teaching post for Urban Health and Environmental Design at New York University, and has been invited as a guest critic at Harvard. His work has been featured in over a dozen publications, including the Harvard University Press, Health Facilities Review, The AIA Press, The New York Times, and The Wall Street Journal. As a thought leader, Michael has spoken at industry forums and led numerous panel discussions on healthcare.
