Strategies and Practices to Move from Transactional HR to Human Experiences

In the face of flat or falling employee engagement scores, a central goal of next-generation HR leaders is to create an Employee Experience. Now two leaders in the exploding field of human experience design have joined forces to create Futurefy Work, a series of intense, hands-on workshops known as Design Labs. The brainchild of Ed Bodensiek, founder of Cravety, and Diane Magers, founder of Experience Catalysts, Futurefy Work prepares HR professionals and team leaders for the future state of work. Scheduled for a Maryland stop on Friday, Nov. 9, 2018, Futurefy Work will guide participants through the methodology and practical exercises to help launch a road map for their organizations’ Employee Experience model.

“We realized HR change agents wanted a place to come together and not just learn about but practice human-centered design thinking,” said co-creator Ed Bodensiek. “Our design lab will be hands-on and experiential, with a stated goal to develop a road map for effective recruiting, retention, and healthier work culture. We’ll demystify how work is changing and how today’s leading organizations are using design thinking to prepare for the future state of the organization.”

“Employers look to employees to deliver great experiences for customers yet often miss the opportunity to create those same experiences for employees,” said co-creator Diane Magers. “Futurefy Work will give leaders a step-by-step framework to finally do something about what’s a critical disconnect and a dynamic opportunity.”

Futurefy Work participants will receive a design tool kit and discover a tool to explain the financial value of change in terms the C-suite will understand and support. The Design Lab will open at 8 a.m. and close at 4:30 p.m. at newly opened space at Axis Research and Technologies in Columbia, Maryland.

Futurefy Work will also place an emphasis on cultural analytics, uncovering employee intelligence gaps within the organization and ways to begin preparing for Generation Z’s imminent arrival in the workplace. Futurefy Work’s design labs will also be held in 2019 in Atlanta, Dallas, Salt Lake City, and Irvine, California.
