eMoney Advisor Partners With 30 Colleges Across The Nation

8/15/18

eMoney Advisor, a leading provider of scalable wealth management technology, today announced the launch of its revamped University Program. Now in its third year, the University Program aims to develop the next generation of financial advisors by providing college students who are pursuing a financial planning degree with training on the eMoney platform as part of their curriculum. Although the program began in 2015, a new eMoney certification component was recently added to elevate the level of training students receive, ensuring their participation results in eMoney expertise, a marketable skill for their future careers.

"At eMoney, our mission to move the financial services industry forward extends beyond our products and services – to people. Our University Program enables us to invest in the people who will shape the future of this industry, a future that we believe will be planning-led and reliant on versatile technology," said Matthew Schulte, Head of Financial Planning at eMoney.

Schulte's team partners with colleges and universities that offer students a financial planning degree that is registered with the Certified Financial Planning (CFP®) Board. As part of the University Program, program directors and instructors are given free eMoney software licenses for their students. Additionally, the eMoney team works to help them incorporate the software into their financial planning curriculum. Often, students in these financial planning courses complete and present a financial plan using eMoney's interactive planning tools as part of their capstone course requirement.

To take students' eMoney skills a step further, Schulte's team of in-house CFPs recently developed a self-guided, online eMoney certification course. Training is divided into sections, and students are quizzed after each section to ensure proficiency. Upon completion of the online training, which takes approximately 12 hours, students receive an official certification from eMoney that can be leveraged to distinguish themselves in the job market.

Currently, 30 colleges and universities across the nation participate in eMoney's University Program. Cynthia Axelrod is Assistant Professor and Academic Director of Financial Planning at the Fox School of Business at Temple University. She incorporates eMoney into multiple financial planning courses each semester, including the Introduction to Financial Planning and the Seminar in Financial Planning Capstone. Her students also use eMoney when conducting instructive modules within their student professional organization, the Temple University Financial Planning Association.

"We're thrilled to partner with eMoney to offer our students hands-on experience with the technology solutions that the industry's leading advisors use every day to run their businesses," said Axelrod. "The classroom work and online learning provide students with invaluable experience that we believe will springboard their careers in the industry."
