Don’t sleep on A.C.! Over the past few weeks, Vantage Real Estate Services has met with government officials, non-profits, and business leaders to identify business incentives for those looking to set up shop in Atlantic City and the surrounding county. The strategic meetings have exposed plenty of great offers for new businesses, ranging from government subsidies for environmental inspections to loans for high profile redevelopment costs.

A myriad of governmental and private organizations are pitching in to encourage business development in the Atlantic City area. Following are some of the top incentives uncovered by Vantage RES:

The New Jersey Economic Development Alliance (NJEDA) is overseeing a program for incoming businesses to receive high denomination tax credits to offset costs of hiring a full-time workforce through the GROW NJ Program. The NJEDA also offers high denomination loans for high profile projects through their Premier Lending program.

The Atlantic County Improvement Authority (ACIA) has set aside funds to offer Section 108 Loans, Micro Loans, and Small Business Loans.

Atlantic City Electric announced they are offering price deductions through their Energy Discounts for Growing Enterprises (EDGE) Program for businesses acquiring land or entering a new building lease.

The State of New Jersey is administering incentive programs for new commercial leases and business improvements. The programs will partially reimburse businesses for certain leases and renovation projects within target districts. The State also plans to offer savings on utility costs and new commercial appliances through its Clean Energy Program.

Galloway Township officials also told Vantage Real Estate that they are now offering 5-year tax abatements on all commercial properties, and are “willing to work with” businesses applying for payment-in-lieu-of-tax programs for extended periods.

Vantage RES’ Director of Strategic Partnerships, Paul T. Garraty, cites the meetings as part of the real estate firm’s strategy to strengthen partnerships and spur economic development in the area. "As a lifelong resident of Atlantic County, I am excited to play a meaningful role in this economic revival,” says Garraty.
