Weinberger Divorce & Family Law Group is pleased to announce that several of the firm's family law attorneys have been named to the Super Lawyer and Super Lawyer Rising Star lists for 2018. Each year, no more than five percent of attorneys practicing in New Jersey receive this prestigious designation.
Honored as Super Lawyers for 2018 are certified matrimonial law Bari Weinberger, founder of Weinberger Divorce & Family Law Group, and attorney Erich "Rick" Schneider, also certified by the New Jersey Supreme Court to practice matrimonial law. This year marks the 10th year of Supers Lawyers recognitions for both Bari and Rick.
Weinberger Divorce & Family Law Group's Super Lawyer Rising Star honorees in 2018 include family law attorneys LaDonna Cousins, Nick Mourtos, Veronica Norgaard, Stephanie O'Neill, and Jessica Sprague.
SuperLawyers, a Thomson Reuters business, is a rating service of outstanding New Jersey lawyers who have attained a high degree of peer recognition and professional achievement. Attorneys are selected to the Super Lawyers list through a multiphase process, including peer review and independent evaluation. According to Thomson Reuters, the review and candidate evaluation program results in a credible, comprehensive and diverse listing of exceptional New Jersey attorneys.
"Being named to the Super Lawyers and Super Lawyer Rising Star lists is such an honor for us because it means that our dedication to providing excellent legal care has been acknowledged by our peers in the legal community," said Ms. Weinberger.
In addition to celebrating her 10th year on the Super Lawyer lists, Ms. Weinberger was recently named a (201) Magazine's Top Lawyers for 2018.
"These recognitions are wonderful and humbling to receive…and it's inspired me and our firm to give back and support our legal communities even more," she noted.
So far in 2018, Ms. Weinberger has spoken before local domestic violence victim advocates in her presentation, "Breaking Free from Financial Abuse," hosted by the YWCA of Union County Domestic Violence Team. In March, she presented and moderated a panel discussion on "Anatomy of a Divorce Case Information Statement," in a learning seminar for the Institute of Continuing Legal Education.
Firm attorneys have also come together to participate in community outreach efforts, including releasing free resources for those affected by domestic abuse, and supporting the work of the New Jersey Coalition to End Domestic Violence. In April, the firm will raise awareness of CASA of NJ's work advocating for neglected children in the foster care system.
"It's always nice to receive an award, but just like we take great care of our clients, it's important for us to take great care of our communities. We're in a unique position to share valuable resources with people in need of help and who don't know what their rights are," said Ms. Weinberger.
"Safeguarding people's rights…this is simply our mission."
