Stradley Ronon partner Samuel J. Arena Jr. has been elected to a two-year term as a member of the governing body of the American Bar Association Tort Trial & Insurance Practice Section (TIPS), TIPS Section Council. The Tort Trial & Insurance Practice Section is a national source of expertise in tort, trial and insurance practice and brings lawyers together to share information and speak out on issues of importance. The Section’s 25,000 members focus on substantive and procedural matters in areas across the broad spectrum of civil law and practice.

Arena has been actively involved in the American Bar Association throughout his more than 33-year career with Stradley Ronon. He previously held leadership positions within TIPS, having served as chair of the TIPS Publications Editorial Board, chair of the Fidelity and Surety Law Committee, and vice chair of the Insurance Coverage Litigation Committee. Arena has also served on the TIPS Financial Committee, TortSource Editorial Board, Long Range Planning Committee, Task Force on Strategic Alliances, Task Force on Insurance and Corporate Counsel Involvement, and Task Force on Corporate Governance Institute, Electronic Media Coordinating Group and Communications Coordinating Group. He has also been a frequent speaker and author on a variety of insurance coverage law, fidelity law, and surety law topics.

Arena has concentrated his practice on insurance law and fidelity and surety law for more than 33 years. A leader in Stradley Ronon’s insurance practice group and the chair of the firm’s fidelity and surety practice group, he represents insurance companies in complex insurance coverage and fidelity and surety matters. Arena has extensive experience representing insurance companies in bad-faith and extra-contractual liability claims and litigation.
