Robert Cottone
ECHOES Around the World, a nonprofit organization that supports education, literacy, healthcare, and economic self-sufficiency in global communities, named IMC Construction President and CEO Robert Cottone its 2016 Call to Care Honoree. The award was presented during ECHOES’ Call to Care Boots ‘N Bandanas Bash October 14 at Saint David’s Church in Wayne, Pa.
ECHOES honored Cottone for his dedicated community leadership and contributions. The event raised funds for critical needs at two partner schools and a medical center in Uganda and for Saint James School in North Philadelphia. Also at the banquet, medical advisor Dr. Pete Motel accepted the ECHOES 2016 Humanitarian Award.
“ECHOES does important work here in Philadelphia and around the world,” said Cottone. “Community engagement and social investment are part of our core values at IMC Construction. I’m proud to lead by example helping ECHOES turn impactful ideas into real solutions that improve lives.”
IMC employees are encouraged to participate in philanthropic and community activities. Through the IMC Charitable Foundation, the company helps and empowers nonprofit organizations in the communities in which IMC team members live and work. The IMC Volunteer Program encourages employees to plan and take up to five days away from the office each year to provide community service. Each year, IMC supports over 128 nonprofits with time, action, and more than $200,000 in contributions.
A construction industry leader with 30 years of experience, Cottone brings business acumen and commitment to numerous charitable causes. He is the chairman of the American Heart Association 2016 Philadelphia Heart Walk to be held November 5, 2016. He serves as chairman of the IMC Charitable Foundation, on the board of directors of Community Volunteers in Medicine, and on the board of trustees of Westtown School in West Chester, Pa.
