Grant Thornton LLP welcomes Melissa Schibi as a partner to lead the firm’s Pittsburgh Corporate Tax practice.
Schibi has extensive experience working with public and private tax clients in a variety of industries. She has addressed an array of tax issues involving U.S. tax reporting for foreign entities, federal tax restructuring, mergers and acquisitions, large multi-state corporations, large multi-national corporations, consolidated groups and the implementation and use of a variety of tax credits.
“Melissa has consistently demonstrated long-term leadership in both the profession and her community, and she will provide tremendous value and tax leadership to our clients, as well as to our firm,” said Enzo Santilli, Grant Thornton’s Pittsburgh office managing partner. “Her arrival reinforces our commitment to the continued growth of our Pittsburgh office and an expansion of our corporate tax capabilities throughout the region.”
Schibi joined Grant Thornton in 2002. Prior to being admitted as a partner, she served as a senior manager in the firm’s Hartford office.
Schibi is a certified public accountant in Massachusetts, Connecticut, and Pennsylvania and is a member of the American Institute of Certified Public Accountants. She received a bachelor’s degree in accounting from Assumption College.
