MURRAY HILL, N.J.--(BUSINESS WIRE)--Advent Intermodal Solutions (Advent), a leading provider of IT-based intermodal solutions, today announced it has appointed Hilda Rodriguez to serve as senior business development manager. In her new role, Rodriguez is responsible for developing business solutions for the Southeast U.S., Latin America and Caribbean regions.

“Hilda’s international business acumen is remarkable and will be a huge asset as we look to continue expanding our presence across the Americas,” said Parvez Mansuri, Advent’s CEO. “Her extensive background and expertise in maritime shipping and logistics make her ideally suited to help clients meet the ever-changing demands and distribution challenges that face the port community.”

Rodriguez’s career in the trade industry spans 26 years and includes several management level positions with leading shipping lines Crowley Maritime Corporation, Kirk Line Ltd. and Hanjin Shipping. Most recently, she spent the past 15 years as a terminal manager at the Port of Miami Terminal Operating Company (POMTOC), overseeing the customer service and customs compliance departments. During her tenure at POMTOC, Rodriguez created and implemented several operational procedures and guidelines to optimize customer service, increase production and reduce turn-around times.

Active in the trade community, Rodriguez is currently serving her fourth year as the president of the Florida Customs Brokers & Forwarders Association (FCBF), Florida’s most influential trade organization. In addition to participating on trade organization committees, Rodriguez is an adjunct professor at Miami Dade College where she teaches import customs regulations. In 2010, she obtained her U.S. Customs and Border Protection broker license.

Rodriguez’s achievements have been recognized by her peers on several occasions. She received the Leading Women in Florida Transportation Award from The Florida Shipper Magazine in 2006. In 2013, she graduated summa cum laude from Barry University with a Master of Business Administration. In addition, World Trade Center Miami presented Rodriguez with the International Women’s Award in 2016.

“It’s an exciting time at Advent as the company redesigns its eModal platform,” said Rodriguez. “I’m thrilled to join a team of professionals who are committed to constantly evolving their systems to ensure they are providing an intuitive, best-in-class solution for their users. It’s an opportune time for Advent to expand, and I am very excited to drive the company’s business development in the Americas.”

Advent’s eModal platform is the world’s largest Port Community System (PCS) for managing all aspects of the intermodal supply chain. eModal is a cloud solution and enables users to manage truck registries, appointments, dispatching, chassis rental billing and fee payments. Supply chain stakeholders can use eModal to share data and connect with one another, providing complete visibility of accurate and timely data from a central portal.
