Bayer, a Life Sciences company dedicated to healthcare and agriculture, today announced that Joseph Hathaway, Assistant Manager of External Communications, has been named to PRWeek's 2016 "40 Under 40" List. The award from PRWeek, a market-leading specialist magazine published by Haymarket Media, honors 40 professionals under age 40 who are making outstanding contributions to the communications industry and are viewed as emerging leaders.
A 2009 graduate of Yale University, where he was a standout football player, Hathaway joined Bayer in 2014 after a successful stint managing events for New Jersey Gov. Chris Christie. In his current role at Bayer, Hathaway is responsible for raising the profile of Bayer externally and increasing the company's reputation inthe United States. His duties include media relations, engaging with state and federal officials, leading an executive visibility program for Bayer U.S. executives, and overseeing Bayer's extensive external corporate partnerships.
"This PRWeek Award is a testament to Joe's hard work and dedication as a communications professional," saidRaymond F. "Joe has impressed colleagues and peers alike with his extraordinary organizational skills, strong attention to detail and laser focus on results. Joe is a team player and a continuous learner who seeks tough assignments and helps breathe fresh ideas into projects. We are fortunate to have Joe on our team."
Kerins noted that Hathaway manages Bayer's highly successful New York Red Bulls corporate marketing partnership. As the team's official Life Sciences partner, a partnership based on employee engagement and a shared commitment to helping the community, Bayer is working closely with the Red Bulls on a variety of projects including special events, soccer clinics and community services projects.
Just last year, Hathaway took on the additional responsibility of leading Bayer's efforts as title sponsor for country music superstar Luke Bryan's annual farm tour across the United States. He also executed the setup, run and take down of Bayer's lighting, audio and staging equipment used throughout the tour.
Always aiming to broaden his professional skills, Hathaway earlier this year became the manager of Bayer's new television studio, Studio B, which is located on the third floor of the company's U.S. headquarters inWhippany.
