McCarron, Esq., partner with the firm, received the 2016 Distinguished Defense Counsel Award from the Pennsylvania Defense Institute (PDI) at its Annual Meeting on July 14 and 15, 2016. The award honors “a member of the civil defense bar who best exemplifies the qualities of professionalism, dedication to the practice of law and promotion of the highest ideals of justice in the community.” Mr. McCarron was recognized for his handling of cases against lawyers often the subject of publicity, including his recent success in overturning the $1M sanction against Nancy Raynor.

Jeffrey B. McCarron is the Chairperson of the Management Committee and is Chair of the Professional Liability Group of Swartz Campbell. Mr. McCarron is a Board Certified Professional Liability Attorney by the American Board of Professional Liability Attorneys, as well as a Board Certified Civil Trial Advocate by the National Board of Trial Advocacy. Martindale-Hubble rated him AV; the highest available rating. For two decades, Mr. McCarron has dedicated his practice to the representation of professionals in litigation, and developed a group which concentrates on the handling of professional liability litigation matters. The matters involve representation of lawyers, accountants, appraisers, realtors, insurance agents and brokers, officers and directors, architects and engineers, securities dealers, and title insurance agents. Mr. McCarron has handled hundreds of trials, and he is a frequent lecturer and writer concerning professional liability issues, risk management for professionals, and litigation techniques and practice. He is licensed to practice law in New Jersey and Pennsylvania.

Mr. McCarron is a former Co-Chair of the Professional Responsibility Committee of the Philadelphia Bar Association, former Co-Vice Chair of the Professional Liability Committee of the Pennsylvania Bar Association and the current Chair of the Professional Liability Committee of the Pennsylvania Defense Institute. He is a member of the American Bar Association Committee on Professional Liability Litigation and Committee on Ethics and Professionalism. A 1983 graduate of Hampshire College, Mr. McCarron earned his law degree from Temple University School of Law in 1987.
