Alliant Technologies CEO, Bruce Flitcroft, is the 2016 recipient of the EY Entrepreneur of the Year® Award for IT Services in New Jersey. This year marks the 30th anniversary of the award program, which recognizes outstanding entrepreneurs who demonstrate excellence and extraordinary success in such areas as innovation, financial performance, and personal commitment to their businesses and communities. Flitcroft was selected by an independent panel of judges, and the award was presented at a gala event at the Hyatt Regency, New Brunswick on June 23, 2016.
In 1998, Flitcroft founded Alliant Technologies as a web infrastructure consultancy and IT integrator. In 2008, Bruce and his team concluded that the IT industry was poised and ready to transform its delivery and consumption model. They began building the first IT infrastructure utility company designed to lower cost, reduce defects and simplify IT. In 2010, Flitcroft evolved the service to a pay-as-you-use consumption structure, delivering the necessary agility to respond to dynamic business environments. During his acceptance speech, Flitcroft noted that his vision of a true IT infrastructure utility wouldn't have come to life without the dedicated, talent-rich team at Alliant. He added, "Many think that technology and innovation only comes out of Silicon Valley from huge companies; but the reality is that innovation is alive and well in New Jersey, and we're pretty proud of that. We are changing the way that everyone is going to consume IT in the next twenty years—it's just going to work [and] it's going to cost less."
As a regional award winner, Bruce Flitcroft is now eligible for the Entrepreneur of the Year 2016 national program. Award winners in several national categories, as well as the Entrepreneur of the Year National Overall Award winner, will be announced at the National Awards gala in Palm Springs, California, on November 19, 2016.
