Hon. Mason Avrigian, Sr.

Wisler Pearlstine, LLP is pleased to announce that Mason Avrigian, Sr. has been appointed chair of the Pennsylvania Bar Insurance Fund and Trust Fund. He will serve a two year term, beginning July 1, 2016 and ending June 30, 2018. The Pennsylvania Bar Insurance Fund “was established to provide insurance plans for the Association’s members and the latter’s employees who desire to participate in such plans. The Trust Fund was established to promote educational and charitable activities within the legal profession and the administration of justice, particularly in the Commonwealth of Pennsylvania.”

Hon. Mason Avrigian, Sr., counsel to the firm, is a former Judge of the Court of Common Pleas of Montgomery County’s 38th Judicial District (1977 – 1982). Today, he is one of the most sought after arbitrators/mediators in the Delaware Valley, dedicating his entire practice to alternative dispute resolution. He has mediated or arbitrated more than 1,000 disputes or claims, the majority of them on the trial lists of the Five County Southeast Region of the Commonwealth. For over a decade, he has been named in the publication Best Lawyers and has also been named as one of Pennsylvania’s Top 100 Super Lawyers from 2004 through 2015 by the publication Law and Politics. He lectures widely on civil litigation, family law, ethics and professionalism. A past member of the Board of Governors of the Pennsylvania Bar Association, Mr. Avrigian has served as a Delegate in its House of Delegates for more than thirty years. He was appointed and served as a hearing committee member of the Disciplinary Board of the Supreme Court of Pennsylvania. He is a past President (1974) of the Montgomery Bar Association and a past President of the Desmond J. McTighe Chapter of American Inns of Court. Prior to serving on the bench, Mr. Avrigian was a Special Assistant to the Attorney General of the Commonwealth of Pennsylvania from 1962 through 1968. Over the last 10 years, he has served as a member and Chairman of the Governor’s Judicial Selection Commission on numerous occasions. He is a member of the Pennsylvania and Montgomery Bar Associations, and the Montgomery County Legal Aid Board. A graduate of Moravian College, Mr. Avrigian earned law degrees from Temple University School of Law and National Judicial College.
