Goldin Auctions is proud to announce the Cal Ripken Jr. personal collection in the October Legends auction that includes the sale of some of the most prized possessions from the personal collection of Cal Ripken Jr. The collection features mementos from the incredible and unparalleled career of Hall of Famer Cal Ripken, Jr. from his first little league uniform, to his early days as a Baltimore Oriole, to items from his historic consecutive game streak, 3,000th hit, 400th home run, World Series Championship, retirement and more. “It is an honor to get the opportunity to work once again with Cal Ripken, Jr. He is one of the most loved and important icons in American sports history and his on and off the field accomplishments are second to none,” said Goldin Auctions Founder and CEO Ken Goldin. “This collection is one of the most significantly important collections ever to come to auction of a modern baseball player.”

The auction will include game used items and memorabilia from historic events and accomplishments in the great career of Cal Ripken Jr. A portion of all items sold will benefit the Cal Ripken, Sr. Foundation.

“Over the last year I have had the chance to explore my collection and it amazed me how many unique items I was able to compile throughout my career” said Hall of Famer Cal Ripken, Jr. “With the celebration of the 25th anniversary of 2131 still fresh in my mind, I thought this would be a great time to share some of them with other collectors and lovers of baseball. It will also raise funds for our work with kids under the Foundation named for my Dad.”

The Auction will be a two-session auction with Session 1 ending on October 31 consisting of lots 1-417 and Session 2 ending November 1st consisting of lots 418-1911.

Lot #8 - 1981 Cal Ripken, Jr. Game Used Baltimore Orioles Home Jersey Used for MLB Debut (Ripken LOA & Beckett) This is the jersey that started Cal Ripken, Jr. on the road to Cooperstown.

Lot #9 - Cal Ripken, Jr. Game Used & Signed Bat Used For #2131 Consecutive Game 1st At Bat - Breaks Gehrig Record (PSA/DNA GU 10 & Ripken LOA & Beckett) This is the bat Cal Ripken, Jr. used in his 2,131st consecutive game. It was Wednesday September 6, 1995. The Angels were in Baltimore to play the Orioles and Camden Yards was standing room only. The President and Vice President of the United States both were in the stands and the second largest television audience to ever watch a baseball game were rivetted to their screens.

Lot #10 - Cal Ripken, Jr. Game Used Consecutive Game #2632 (All-Time Record) Baltimore Orioles Home Jersey Used 9/19/1998 (Ripken LOA) Cal Ripken, Jr. wore this jersey to play in his 2,632nd consecutive game, the final one of his record-setting streak. To say this jersey is a museum-worthy artifact would be an understatement; in fact, it has spent the past 22 years as the cornerstone of an exhibit about Cal in the National Baseball Hall of Fame in Cooperstown, New York.

Lot #19 - Cal Ripken, Jr. End Of Consecutive Game Streak Game Worn & Signed Baltimore Orioles Home Uniform (Jersey & Pants) From 9/20/1998 (Ripken LOA & Beckett) Cal Ripken, Jr. donned this uniform for the first Orioles game he didn’t play in since June 5, 1982, over 16 years earlier.
