Cushman & Wakefield announced today that the real estate services firm has hired Frank Palopoli Jr. as a Director, where he will focus on advising life science and healthcare occupiers and investors in the Philadelphia suburbs and join the company’s National Life Sciences Advisory Group.

Led by Paul Garvey, Managing Director at Cushman & Wakefield, the Philadelphia life sciences team has executed more than 22 transactions valued at over $130M in the past 18 months. Garvey and his team lead the market in life science transactions with 26 percent of the market share.

“We are thrilled to have Frank on our team, which has had great success these past couple of years, especially in University City where many of these companies reside,” said Garvey. “We’re continuing to see an excellent level of activity for lab and office space for life science and healthcare companies. We are optimistic as companies seeking new cures and therapies, as well as the talent base in Greater Philadelphia, continue to grow. Frank joining the team will enhance our existing coverage and support to current and prospective clients in those industries.”

Since 2014, public and private investment in life sciences has increased more than 350 percent in Philadelphia, driving demand for lab, office and manufacturing space from pharmaceutical and biotech occupiers across the region.

“The region’s history as a home for major pharmaceutical manufacturers, coupled with its large network of academic research institutions and hospitals, has made Philadelphia one of the top places for life sciences talent in the country, which is driving innovation and attracting companies from across the globe,” added Casandra Dominguez, Director of Research for Philadelphia and Baltimore at Cushman & Wakefield.

Throughout his 17-year career, Palopoli has worked with large national and international clients with a focus in providing exceptional services to occupiers and investors. Prior to joining Cushman & Wakefield, Palopoli served as Vice President of Advisory Services and Partner at Binswanger, where he led his team’s tenant representation and business development efforts in the Philadelphia suburbs. Over the course of his career, he has completed approximately four million square feet in transactions with 65 percent of those transactions being tied to the life sciences and healthcare industries.

“I’m excited to be working with such an elite group,” said Palopoli. “This team has a credible history and reputation in this market and is always one step ahead of the game. I’m eager to continue this company’s legacy of providing our clients with the information and expertise they need to make confident decisions regarding their unique real estate needs.”

Palopoli graduated with a bachelor’s degree in business administration from Boston University. He is a Certified Commercial Investment Member (CCIM) and active in several local non-profit organizations.
