Ann’s Choice Holds Special Graduation Parade for Student Workers

Local high school students awarded $8,000 scholarships

On Friday, June 19, Ann’s Choice held a special graduation parade for high school seniors employed at the Erickson Living senior living community in Bucks County. The graduating seniors walked through campus in caps and gowns as residents cheered from sidewalks, balconies, and patios. This year due to social distancing protocols, the community decided to have a parade instead of its annual Scholar Award Ceremony.

25 high school students were awarded $8,000 scholarships from the community to support their pursuit of higher education. Also, two college students and eight high school students received designated named scholarships totally $36,500.

The Scholar's Program is funded by the residents of Ann's Choice to support high school students employed on campus who have shown commitment to serving the Ann's Choice community. Qualifications include working 1,000 hours at Ann's Choice during their junior and senior years in high school, maintaining satisfactory grades, building positive relationships with residents and maintaining a strong employment record.

“We wanted to celebrate our graduating seniors with something special since many ceremonies have been canceled due to the Covid-19 situation,” said Manager of Philanthropy Sharon Silvestri. "Thank you to our generous residents for supporting this outstanding program."

Since 2004, the Ann's Choice Student Scholarship Fund has awarded more than $3 million in financial aid to student workers to support their pursuit of higher education.
