Urban Technology Project is looking to fill the 2020-2021 cohorts of both its AmeriCorps Digital Service Fellows (DSF), a pre-apprenticeship program, and Computer Support Specialist (CSS), a registered apprenticeship program.

DSF cohort members — all recent high school grads ages 17 to 24 — can develop computer skills via on-the-job training, mentorship, service and technical instruction. CCS — young adults, career changers and veterans — requires its apprentices to have one IT certification and one year of IT experience and connects apprentices to teachers in the School District of Philadelphia to provide tech support.

Benefits available to fellows include IT certifications, a living allowance, a monthly TransPass, and an educational scholarship, while CSS provides IT certifications, a monthly TransPass and a salary with benefits. Certifications to be earned include CompTIA’s A+, Net+ and Security+; Amazon Web Services; and Apple’s ACMT and ACIT.
