Dentons, the world’s largest law firm, today announces the strengthening of its litigation and insurance capabilities with the addition of Robert F. Guida. Returning to private practice after nearly 30 years in-house at Prudential Financial, Guida will focus on insurance defense and general litigation.

Most recently, Guida served as Vice President & Corporate Counsel with Prudential, where he oversaw individual life insurance litigation, including class actions; pre-litigation support for business initiatives for the company’s Individual Life Insurance and Prudential Advisors business units and legal support for the company’s D&O liability and other executive risk insurance overages, including policy negotiation, wording and claim issues.

Previously, Guida was a member of the legal team responsible for legal support to the Prudential Advisors business unit, including business initiatives, regulatory and litigation matters, restrictive covenant enforcement, insurance licensing and appointment, securities registration, and errors and omissions coverage. . He also spent five years handling employment and labor legal issues , and three years managing environmental and toxic tort insurance coverage litigation.

Prior to joining Prudential, Guida was in private practice. He earned his JD, cum laude, from Seton Hall University School of Law, where he was a member of the law review, and his BA, cum laude, from Muhlenberg College.
