Niki T. Ingram
Niki T. Ingram, senior counsel at Marshall Dennehey Warner Coleman & Goggin, has been named the first-ever Diversity, Equity & Inclusion Officer of the Philadelphia Bar Foundation. The position was created following the nationwide demonstrations against police brutality and racial injustices over the summer of 2020.
“Racism is prevalent in all civil legal matters, from housing to unemployment to immigration, and the work of civil legal aid agencies is critical in the fight for racial justice,” said Jessica R. Hilburn-Holmes, Executive Director of the Philadelphia Bar Foundation. “The Bar Foundation is committed to this fight and to doing the work in order to promote a better, more equitable Philadelphia community. The addition of a DE&I Officer is a first step toward that goal – and we couldn’t find a more competent nor passionate person to lead this charge than Niki Ingram.”
Ms. Ingram joined the Philadelphia Bar Foundation for a three-year Board term in 2019 and accepted the DE&I Officer position earlier this month. Over the course of her career at Marshall Dennehey, she has championed diversity and inclusion causes in her former roles as a member of the firm’s Board of Directors and as Director of the Workers’ Compensation Department.
A member of Marshall Dennehey’s Diversity Committee, Ms. Ingram has served on the Board of Directors of Delaware Futures, the Board of the Delaware Horticultural Society and on the Smith College Alumnae Association's Board of Directors. She is a current Board member of Christian Legal Clinics of Philadelphia. She also currently volunteers for Friendship House, an organization serving children and families in need in Delaware. Ms. Ingram additionally spearheads Marshall Dennehey’s partnership of support with Chester A. Arthur Elementary School in Philadelphia.
A graduate of Smith College and the University of Pennsylvania Law School, she is a recipient of the Sadie T. Alexander Award for Distinguished Alumni from the University of Pennsylvania Law School, given in honor of the first black female lawyer in Pennsylvania. She is also the recipient of a 2019 Minority Business Leaders Award from the Philadelphia Business Journal, and in 2017 she received the Martha Hampton Award from the Philadelphia Bar Association's Workers' Compensation section.
