Saltz, Mongeluzzi, Barrett & Bendesky Co-Founder Parts Ways to Start New Boutique Firm Concentrating on Medical Malpractice

Longtime named Partner, Michael F. Barrett,announces that he has departed Saltz, Mongeluzzi, Barrett & Bendesky (SMBB) after 22 years to start a boutique medical malpractice law firm, Barrett DeAngelo, based in Philadelphia.

Alongside Barrett, the new firm is co-founded by Joseph (Joe) G. DeAngelo, who is alsomoving on from SMBB after 12 years. As a personal injury lawyer, he focuses on complex medical malpractice, premises liability and civil rights cases in Pennsylvania. Terrance (Terry) DeAngelo, also a former attorney with SMBB, will join Michael and Joe in the formation of this new firm.In addition to establishing careers as strategic attorneys, the DeAngelo’s have shared backgrounds in the medical field. Joe is a registered nurse and Terry was a former nurse and military veteran.

Barrett has been a leader in the Philadelphia Trial Lawyer Bar for decades. He previously servedas president of the Philadelphia Trial Lawyers Association (PTLA) and has been recognized as a “Top 100” lawyer for many years. He looks forward to working with the DeAngelo brothers at his new firm and is confident in his team’s collective abilities, valuable industry knowledge and professional experience.
