Andrew M. Kuntz Joins Pashman Stein Walder Hayden as an Associate

Pashman Stein Walder Hayden announced today that Andrew M. Kuntz has joined the firm as an associate in the Commercial Litigation practice group at the firm’s Hackensack office. Kuntz was previously with the New Jersey Office of the Attorney General in Newark, NJ as a Deputy Attorney General, Division of Law, Public Utilities Section.

In his role as a Deputy Attorney General, Kuntz served as Counsel for the New Jersey Board of Public Utilities’ (BPU) Division of Water, representing BPU staff in all phases of administrative litigation, and served as appellate counsel for BPU’s Division of Energy on several high-profile natural gas and electric transmission approvals. In addition, he served as Counsel for BPU’s Office of Clean Energy (OCE) advising on all aspects of OCE’s suite of clean energy grants and procurements. Prior to representing BPU, as a Deputy Attorney General, Kuntz represented the NJ Department of Transportation (NJDOT) in all phases of eminent domain and tort litigation.

Kuntz received his J.D., cum laude, from Rutgers School of Law-Newark in 2012, where he was vice president of the Asian/Pacific American Law Student Association, and his B.S., cum laude, from the University of Massachusetts in Amherst in 2008. Following law school, Kuntz served as the Law Clerk to the Honorable Ariel A. Rodriguez in the Supreme Court of New Jersey in Newark. He has also been a Law Clerk at the Hackensack office of Kates, Nussman, Rapone, Ellis & Rahi, LLP. During law school he represented clients through the Rutgers Urban Legal Clinic, and served as a Judicial Intern to the Honorable Jaynee LaVecchia in the Supreme Court of New Jersey in Morristown and to the Honorable Morris Stern in the U.S. Bankruptcy Court, District of New Jersey in Newark.

Kuntz is admitted to the Bar in New York and New Jersey, and is a member of the New Jersey State Bar Association and its Public Utility Law Section.
