Philadelphia and New York City-based firm continues to expand its healthcare team, increasing their focus on the behavioral health sector
FCA, a leading architecture firm with offices in Philadelphia and New York, is pleased to announce that Joe Doherty has joined its team as Principal. Based out of the Philadelphia office, Doherty will leverage his background in behavioral health to reimagine the intersection of design and care, focusing on the diverse needs of the communities FCA serves.
Prior to joining FCA, Doherty has accumulated over 25 years of experience in architecture and project management. He specializes in healthcare and workplace projects with an emphasis on behavioral health and its influence on design. As Principal, Doherty brings a fresh perspective to FCA that will enhance operational efficiencies and sharpen FCA’s focus on the behavioral health sector.
“Joe brings an unparalleled level of behavioral health expertise to FCA,” said Aran McCarthy, Principal of Healthcare at FCA. “As behavioral health remains a prominent topic in today’s evolving healthcare industry, Joe will be a great asset to FCA’s healthcare team, providing vital insight and understanding as we continue to expand into that sector.”
Doherty has worked on significant projects throughout his career, such as the Hershey Medical Center Cancer Center with Payette in Boston. “I think that I differentiate myself by really empathizing with patients, family, and care caregivers throughout planning and design,” said Doherty. “I always look at the project from the end-users’ perspective in order to create beautiful spaces that are functional and forward-thinking, that can respond to how my clients want to work in the future.”
Doherty’s passion for developing innovative building design solutions has led him to FCA. His ambition to develop architectural projects with behavioral health in mind makes him a valuable addition to the firm’s future endeavors.
