Raymond Brown and Gregg Hilzer

New Jersey litigators Raymond Brown and Gregg Hilzer have joined Scarinci Hollenbeck's Litigation Group. Together with Partners Robert Levy, Paul Lieberman and Roshan Shah, they will help lead the firm's growing Criminal Defense and Corporate Compliance practice groups. Brown and Hilzer have significant experience in handling matters related to criminal defense, corporate compliance, internal investigations, and complex commercial litigation. Ray Brown will be joining the firm as Partner and Gregg Hilzer as Counsel. Both will be located in the firm's Lyndhurst, NJ office.

"I have practiced in international courts, in many federal district courts around the country, and in every county in New Jersey," said Ray Brown. "I had a choice of where to practice, including staying at my previous firm. I chose Scarinci Hollenbeck because it is progressive and dynamic, with lawyers I have known and respected for years as well as others with whom I have not yet worked but who present the opportunity for new challenges in a rapidly changing legal environment."

Who are Raymond M. Brown and Gregg H. Hilzer?

Ray Brown brings with him extensive experience in criminal defense, internal investigation, and complex commercial litigation. He has successfully handled a variety of highly-publicized criminal and civil matters, representing prominent individuals, corporations, and governmental entities before state and federal courts, as well as administrative and international tribunals. Mr. Brown also counsels foreign and domestic multinationals on a broad range of corporate risk management, governance, professional responsibility and transactional issues, especially those at the intersection of corporate compliance, human rights, and transnational business concerns. He has appeared in courts in twelve states and has conducted investigations in the U.S. and in Kenya, El Salvador, the Cayman Islands, Switzerland, the Bahamas, Colombia, and Sierra Leone.

Mr. Hilzer worked alongside Mr. Brown for over a decade at their previous law firm, where he focused his practice on representing individuals, corporations, and governmental entities in a myriad of litigation matters in front of both state and federal courts. He also has experience counseling clients in various regulatory and transactional matters related to the emerging legal cannabis industry.

"The addition of Ray and Gregg expands the range of and adds depth to our already strong litigation practice," said Robert Levy, Partner, and Chair of the firm's Litigation Group. "They have an impressive track record, and I look forward to working with them."
