Hyland Levin is pleased to announce the formal launch of the firm’s "Food and Beverage Law Group”.
Hyland Levin attorneys have extensive experience representing members of the food and beverage industries in a variety of legal matters. Firm clients include food manufacturers and processors, innovative producers of food enhancers and food specialties, wholesalers and distributors, restaurants and QSR owners, grocery and convenience stores and alcoholic beverage retailers.
“We have been, and continue to be, a one-stop shop for companies in the food manufacturing, distribution and retail sectors. We counsel our clients every day on contractual, regulatory and risk management issues specific to their industries. Formalizing our Food and Beverage Law Group is long overdue,” Benjamin A. Levin, leader of the Group and Managing Partner of the firm, said. Since 2004, Levin has served as outside general counsel to Rastelli Foods Group, an industry leading provider of food products and food management services.
The Group’s inter-disciplinary team approach to food and beverage clients includes:
1. Drafting key commercial contracts relevant to the food industry including manufacturing, co-packing, product development, joint development, confidentiality, NDAs, licensing, distribution, indemnification and guarantees, broker, bailment, warehousing, supplier, floor stock, private labels, independent contractor, management and consulting agreements and terms and conditions of sale and purchase.
2. Active, ongoing counseling on supply chain transparency, e-commerce, corporate social responsibility, OFAC requirements, and FDA, FSMA and USDA matters relating to food safety, food labeling and regulatory compliance.
3. Representing clients in a complete range of commercial, regulatory and contract disputes and litigation matters, including the protection of trade secrets and confidential business information, transportation and supply chain logistics, internal and regulatory investigations, white-collar crime matters, indemnification claims, and employment related disputes.
4. Providing sophisticated real estate, land use, environmental and leasing legal advice to manufacturers, national franchisors, multi-unit franchise owners, wineries, restaurant tenants and local food and beverage retailers.
