Harrison Urby just got a whole lot bigger.
Following a successful grand opening in 2017, Harrison Urby is pleased to announce the completion and launch of 270 new Urby apartments. The second phase of construction continues to build on Urby’s transformative residential concept with new, forward-thinking social spaces for residents. Harrison Urby is now hosting an open house every Sunday from 11:00am-1:00pm.
“Urby is designed as a modern approach to urban apartment living that aims to create a far more inspired rental experience than what is currently offered by the existing apartment industry,” says Barry. “Similar to how boutique hotels eclipsed corporate brands as the new standard in the hotel industry, we are confident that Urby will become the new standard for rental apartment living.”
As part of the second phase of development, Harrison Urby added a community garden with individual farm plots. These will join existing social spaces like the Urby Kitchen, a chef’s kitchen used to host a continual program of events, a heated saltwater swimming pool and patio, fire pits, BBQ grills, and lawn games, including bocce and table tennis, an on-site dog park and a two-story, 6,000 square foot fitness center.
Harrison Urby’s architecture and interiors are designed by Amsterdam-based firm Concrete, best known for the designs of citizenM Hotels around the world. Paying homage to the neighborhood’s industrial heritage, Urby’s façade is inspired from the design of iron bridges. Comprised of a series of buildings, beautifully landscaped geometric green spaces connect each one and form a network of courtyards together at the heart of the complex.
Apartments at Harrison Urby are available in studio, one-bedroom and two-bedroom layouts. Each apartment features large windows to maximize natural light, built-in closets with drawers for storage and sustainable bamboo flooring. With smart technology systems, including keyless smartphone entry, smartphone remote HVAC and lighting controls, and Amazon package lockers, residents at Harrison Urby have unprecedented access to mobile connectivity.
The heart of Harrison Urby is the two-story entrance café which provides a warm welcome. Operated by local boutique roaster, Coperaco, the café is open to both residents and the public. The space contains a 30-foot treehouse library and Steinway baby grand piano. Don’t miss Thursday night musical performances. Down the hall is Urby Blues, an onsite recording studio that serves as a practice space, classroom and event space for Urby’s jazz musician-in-residence, Davell Crawford.
Just 20 minutes from Lower Manhattan, Harrison Urby is situated only one block from the Harrison PATH station and is located at 777 South Third Street in Harrison, N.J.
Rental prices range from $1875 for a studio to $3300 a two-bedroom apartment.
The first Urby opened in 2016 on Staten Island’s North Shore, followed by a second location in downtown Jersey City in early 2017. The fourth Urby in Stamford, CT broke ground in October 2017 and is expected to open in summer of 2019.
