New Jersey American Water Investing Over $4.2 Million in Burlington and Camden Counties

VOORHEES, N.J.--(BUSINESS WIRE)--New Jersey American Water today announced the start of water main replacement projects in its service areas in Burlington and Camden counties to improve service reliability, prevent water outages and enhance fire protection. The projects, with a combined cost of over $4.2 million, will replace aging pipe dating back to the 1900s.

Beginning this month, New Jersey American Water qualified contractor, Pioneer Pipe Contractors, Inc. will begin work in the following towns:

In Cherry Hill:

  • Utah Avenue, from South Kings Highway to end of roadway

In Cinnaminson:

  • Garfield Avenue, from Melrose Street to Purnell Avenue
  • Melrose Street, from Garfield Avenue to Columbia Avenue
  • Plum Lane, from Greenwood Avenue to end of roadway
  • Taylors Lane, from Cindel Drive to Route 130

In Haddon Heights:

  • East High Street, from White Horse Pike to Fourth Avenue
  • Fourth Avenue, from East Kings Highway to Clements Bridge Road

In Haddonfield:

  • Roberts Avenue, from East Kings Highway to end of roadway

In Lumberton:

  • Moore Street and Ross Street, from Main Street to Chestnut Street
  • Chambers Street, from Moore Street to Ross Street

In Palmyra:

  • New Jersey Avenue, from South Broad Street to West Charles Street
  • 5th Street and 6th Street, from Arch Street to Delaware Avenue
  • Race Street, from 3rd Street to West Broad Street
  • Vine Street and Weart Boulevard, from 5th Street to West Broad Street

In Somerdale:

  • Warwick Road, from West Somerdale Road to Fox Ridge Drive
  • West and East Earl Avenue, from Terrace Avenue to West Atlantic Avenue
  • East Villa Avenue, East Wood Avenue and East Preston Avenue, from Warwick Road to end of roadways

Beginning this month, New Jersey American Water qualified contractor, South State, Inc. will begin work:

In Gloucester Township:

  • 4th Avenue, from Black Horse Pike to Floodgate Road
  • 8th Avenue, from Black Horse Pike to Glendora Avenue
  • 9th Avenue and 11th Avenue, from Black Horse Pike to Saint Mark Drive
  • Central Avenue, from 12th Avenue to 1st Avenue

Prior to the start of construction, the residents within the scope of the project will receive a notice stating the actual state date. Forcinito also reminds drivers and pedestrians to take caution while traveling in the vicinity of work sites, especially during construction hours.
