Swartz Campbell LLC is pleased to announce that William T. Salzer, Esq. was a presenter at the Perrin Conference on May 11, 2017 regarding Emerging Insurance Coverage. The topics of discussion included the right to independent counsel under an insurance policy as well as the scope of representation and ethical implications.

William T. Salzer, a partner in the Philadelphia office, has concentrated his practice for over twenty years in the areas of employment law, insurance coverage and bad faith litigation. Mr. Salzer advocates on behalf of and counsels management and individuals in a wide variety of employment law matters including discrimination claims under federal and state law, employee benefit and fiduciary liability under ERISA, wage and hour disputes, enforcement of intellectual property and restrictive covenant rights, wrongful discharge, breach of contract and labor grievances. Mr. Salzer capitalizes on his litigation experience in the transactional arena where he has protected clients in the purchase and sale of businesses by drafting employment contracts, confidentiality agreements and restrictive convenants.

A substantial part of Mr. Salzer’s practice includes representing and advising primary and excess insurers in complex insurance coverage claims involving risks under commercial general liability, professional, environmental, property and casualty, fidelity and workers’ compensation policies. Mr. Salzer provides timely and comprehensive insurance coverage opinions for risks nationwide. Mr. Salzer assists insurers in drafting policy endorsements to respond to changing legal developments and to foster new business in targeted markets.

Mr. Salzer has been consistently recognized since 2005 as a Pennsylvania Super Lawyer and is peer rated AV Preeminent by Martindale-Hubbell. Prior to joining Swartz Campbell, Mr. Salzer was a trial attorney for the U.S. Department of Labor Office of the Solicitor with responsibility for enforcement of occupational safety and wage and hour laws, representation of the government in black lung benefit claims and defense of union grievances. A 1980 graduate of the University of Virginia Charlottesville, VA, Mr. Salzer earned his law degree from Rutgers University in 1984.
