DeCotiis Law Expands Health Care Practice with Five New Attorneys

Prominent New Jersey law firm DeCotiis, FitzPatrick & Cole, LLP has announced the addition of five new lawyers, representing a significant expansion of the firm's Health Care Practice Group. Catherine J. Flynn and Michael A. Moroney will join the firm as partners. Paul J. Miller, Randall S. Watts and Stefanie L. Rokosz will join as associates.

The DeCotiis firm has a long history of representing clients in a wide range of complex health care issues, and with this addition the practice group gains significant additional expertise.

Catherine J. Flynn has a history of expert representation in health care law, having counseled medical institutions, private practices, health professionals, and individual clients. As an active malpractice defense lawyer for over 26 years, she has successfully argued cases before the New Jersey Supreme Court and Appellate Division, in addition to providing representation in administrative professional licensure matters, and Federal and State regulatory and compliance cases.

Michael Moroney has represented physicians, PPOs and health care institutions in Federal and State courts regarding matters of professional negligence, regulatory & compliance plans, product liability defense, HIPAA, HITECH, and fraud & abuse investigations. He has earned the highest ranking for ethical standards and professional excellence from Martindale-Hubbell, and has lectured on a wide range of health care topics including HIPAA, Social Media, ACO's, fraud & abuse, the False Claims Act, Stark Laws, the Anti-Kickback Statute, and Compliance plans.

Paul Miller specializes in healthcare law, working with clients in medical malpractice matters. He has spent years representing hospitals, dialysis centers, surgical centers, physicians, nurses, dentists, and physician's assistants before the New Jersey State Board of Medical Examiners. He also has experience handling general liability and personal injury matters, multistate litigation involving failure to warn, and product liability claims asserted against pharmaceutical companies and medical device manufacturers.

Randall Watts has dedicated his practice to medical malpractice defense, as well as other areas of health care law. He is a graduate of Rutgers University School of Law – Camden, and has worked as a Victim Advisor with the Domestic Violence Clinic and as a Judicial Law Clerk to the Hon. Roger F. Mahon, J.S.C., in the Superior Court of New Jersey, Hunterdon County, Criminal and Probate Parts.

Stefanie Rokosz is a passionate advocate for clients in medical malpractice defense and insurance defense. Before graduating cum laude from Albany Law School with a Health Law Concentration with honors, Stefanie represented people battling HIV/AIDS and Cancer in social security and disability claims, and interned at the Consumer Affairs Counseling Section of the New Jersey Attorney General's Law Division. She recently authored an article in the Food and Drug Law Journal entitled "Assisted Reproductive Technologies: Advances in Medical Practice or Human Subject Research".
