H. Ronald Klasko, Daniel B. Lundy and Rohit Kapuria, attorneys with Klasko Immigration Law Partners LLP, recently participated at the 2016 New York EB-5 Convention hosted by EB5 Investors Magazine. Mr. Klasko moderated the panels “Understanding and Evaluating Investor Protections and How U.S. Securities Laws Can Affect Overseas Agents” and “China Issues,” Daniel B. Lundy participated as a panelist for “Putting Together an Approvable EB-5 Project,” and Rohit Kapuria moderated the panel “Understanding an EB-5 Capital Transaction.” Mr. Klasko and Mr. Lundy were named to the Top 2016 EB-5 Attorneys list by the magazine. Mr. Kapuria was named to the Top 5 EB-5 Rising Stars list by the magazine.

A former National President of the American Immigration Lawyers Association (AILA), H. Ronald Klasko served as General Counsel of that organization for three Presidents and has been a member of its Board of Governors since 1980. He has served as National Chair of AILA’s U.S. Department of Labor Liaison Committee and Business Immigration Committee, and he served as National Chair of that organization’s INS General Counsel Liaison Committee and the National Task Forces on Labor Certifications, H-1 visas, L-1 visas and Employer Sanctions. He presently chairs AILA’s EB-5 Committee, and is serving his fifth term in that capacity. Mr. Klasko is one of only three practicing lawyers ever honored with the AILA Founders Award for his contributions to immigration jurisprudence. A graduate of Lehigh University (B.A. 1971), he received his law degree from the University of Pennsylvania Law School (J.D. 1974).

Daniel B. Lundy is a partner in the firm. Mr. Lundy practices almost exclusively in the EB-5 Immigration Visa Program area. He leads the Regional Center/Developer Team and the Compliance Team of the firm's EB-5 practice. Mr. Lundy represents established Regional Centers, clients applying for regional center designation, and developers wishing to access foreign investor capital through the EB-5 program. Mr. Lundy works with securities and real estate counsel, economists and business plan writers to help structure development deals to be EB-5 compliant. Mr. Lundy also represents EB-5 investors in their immigration petitions and applications. Mr. Lundy also has a broad background in immigration law, including litigation and appeals in the Federal Courts, E-1/ E-2 Treaty Traders/ Investors, asylum, removal, and employment and family based visas. Mr. Lundy has lectured on the EB-5 visa program or litigating immigration cases in the federal courts at numerous events, and has written several articles on the EB-5 visa program. A graduate of Hunter College (B.A., 2000), he earned his law degree from Fordham University School of Law (J.D. 2006). He is a member of the American Immigration Lawyers Association (AILA) and the Association to Invest in the USA (IIUSA).

Rohit Kapuria Rohit Kapuria is the resident attorney in the Firm’s Chicago office where he serves as a member of the Firm’s EB-5 practice. Mr. Kapuria has worked on over 200 EB-5 transactions, with a combined capital development cost in excess of $5 billion, around the country. He regularly represents EB-5 Lenders, EB-5 Borrowers, Banks, Regional Centers, real estate developers, investors working on direct EB-5 projects, and Migration Brokers. In this capacity, Mr. Kapuria works collaboratively with economists, business plan writers, securities attorneys, investment managers, and other professionals in preparing I-924 and I-526 petitions for filing with USCIS. Mr. Kapuria is often called upon to structure highly complex and compliant EB-5 transactions and usually serves the role of the EB-5 professional team’s quarterback. Over the last few years, he has been actively working to develop the Indian and Gulf countries’ EB-5 markets. He regularly travels to India, UAE, and Qatar to further develop his growing network of broker dealers and to speak on EB-5 transactions. He is bullish on the growth prospects of those markets and is working hard to expand the market opportunities for US developers seeking foreign capital. Mr. Kapuria also regularly speaks on EB-5 topics around the country and has been vigorously developing new relationships with real estate developers and senior lenders. In 2016 he was selected to the Top 5 EB-5 Rising Stars by EB5 Investors Magazine. Mr. Kapuria has a graduate degree in mathematical economics and prior to entering the legal profession, he worked as an economist and fund manager where, with a team of analysts, he created and analyzed predictive fund models for a NGO’s portfolio. Given his unique skill set as a former economist, Mr. Kapuria is able to further delve into the intricacies of an EB-5 transaction’s job creation model. Mr. Kapuria is a member of the Illinois State Bar, IIUSA’s Investor Market’s Committee and the American Immigration Lawyers Association. Mr. Kapuria is fluent in Hindu, Urdu, Punjabi and Hausa. A 2002 graduate of Calvin College (B.A., International Business & Politics) and 2007 graduate of University of San Francisco (M.A., International & Mathematical Economics), Rohit received his law degree from Lewis and Clark Law School in 2012.
