First Phase Of Construction At Woodmont Metro Completed With The Opening Of Pearl Street Parking Garage

State-of-the-Art Parking Deck in the Heart of Downtown Metuchen will Provide Short and Long-Term Parking for Residents, Local Businesses and Commuters

The first phase of construction at Woodmont Metro at Metuchen Station was recently completed with the opening of the Pearl Street Parking Garage. The six-level parking deck will offer 769 parking spaces for residents, commuters and shoppers. Woodmont Metro is a transit oriented redevelopment spearheaded by Woodmont Properties, developer of the apartments and shops, and Nexus Parking Systems, builder and operator of the parking deck for the Metuchen Parking Authority.

Woodmont Metro at Metuchen Station is one of Woodmont Properties’ latest transit-oriented, luxury apartment communities. It is ideally located at the New Jersey Transit Metuchen Train Station on the Northeast Corridor with direct service to New York City. Woodmont Metro, at the corner of Pearl and New Streets in the heart of downtown Metuchen, will consist of 273 residential rental apartments. It will also feature a half-acre, open-space piazza, as well as with 11,500 square feet of shops and restaurants. The parking deck will ultimately have two points of ingress and the primary entrance will be on Pearl Street. Construction at Woodmont Metro is expected to be complete by the end of 2017 and the leasing office at the property will be open in August.

The deck will also serve commuters utilizing the Metuchen Train Station, which is the ninth busiest outlying station in the New Jersey Transit system with more than 3,700 riders boarding each weekday according to the New Jersey Department of Transportation. Amenities at the parking garage include 24-hour on-site service representatives, covered parking, self-service kiosks, daily and monthly rates, vehicle charging stations, portable battery jumper service, handicapped parking on every level and elevators on every level.

Only thirty-five miles from Manhattan,Metuchen is just a short train ride to New York City and has often been called “The Brainy Borough” due to the area’s large number of scholars and inventors as well as its close proximity to the New Brunswick campus of Rutgers University. Metuchen features a wide variety of specialty shops, as well as a unique mix of restaurants, art galleries and entertainment.

Prior to construction, Woodmont Properties relocated and built a brand new post for the Metuchen American Legion. The 4,205-square-foot building was built on property owned by the Parking Authority at Wernik Place and Calvin Place, adjacent to the existing Halsey Street parking lot.
