Company continues to play a role in the community
As part of Hollister Construction Services’ ongoing effort to give back to the community, the Hollister team spent yesterday afternoon volunteering at the Community FoodBank of New Jersey (CFBNJ). Nearly 100 Hollister teammates were involved in the event.
“It’s always great to get involved in our community and what better way to do it than with your entire team,” said Christopher Johnson, Chief Executive Officer of Hollister. “Hollister has been volunteering at the CFBNJ for the last four years and it feels great to contribute to a team effort.”
Hollister team members volunteered a combined total of 170 hours during the course of a single day, assembling610 package instruction sets for seniors in the local community, labeling 3,800 soup cans, and sorting more than 120 boxes of food to be distributed. Hollister also provided a financial donation to the organization.
Hollister is committed to aiding the local community, and this is not the first time company employees have volunteered at the CFBNJ. Last summer, the Hollister team spent an afternoon doing the very same thing and the results were as significant as this year. Hollister also made and donated a matterport 3-d video to CFBNJ of its headquarters in Hillside, NJ.
“Working as a team producesa powerful sense of purpose, while also raising appreciation for the fact that people are in need of the most basic necessities that many of us take for granted,” said Scott Lenox, project manager at Hollister. “This was a fantastic team building experience!”
“Helping others on a project like this highlights the fact that most of us are really blessed,” said Tammy Pierson, preconstruction manager at Hollister. “The severity of our problems are put into perspective when you work to help those who cannot afford what are often considered basic needs.”
“The overall experience at the food bank allowed me to open my heart and give back to communitiesin need,” said Michael Raimondi, senior estimator at Hollister. “The experience also gave me the chance to work with team members from all branches of the Hollister team and get to know others while working for a great cause.”
Hollister Construction Services considers philanthropy a core aspect of its corporate culture. In recent months, Hollister has made significant contributions to anarray of community organizations and causes.
Hollister has engaged in several philanthropic opportunities, including partnering with the iCare Foundation to support families and children by making their holidays wishes come true and volunteering in assembling and donating food Ziploc bags for the Catholic Charities BackPack program, a program that helps feed children in funded pre-schools. Hollister also partnered with Community Blood Services to host a blood drive at its Parsippany headquarters. Hollister reached out to Community Blood Services after learning about a serious blood shortage in New Jersey. Nearly half of the company’s personnel donated blood during the event.
Currently, and every summer, Hollister partners with The All Stars Project, Inc. program, to mentor students and assist with the program’s mission to transform the lives of youth and communities using the developmental power of performance, in partnership with caring adults.
