Four years ago, a group of Philadelphia's venture capitalist leaders were tired of running into each other on Amtrak and at airport terminals in Philadelphia and San Francisco, and other spots where they couldn't have a worthy conversation about collaboration in business.
So the group – Paul Martino, managing partner at Bullpen Capital; Chris Fralic, a partner at First Round; Brock Weatherup of Atai Ventures; and Wayne Kimmel, managing partner at SeventySix Capital – decided to start the annual Philly Tech Dinner, where they would pull together a group of the city's tech entrepreneurs and investors for a night of networking and business venture discussions.
