Ballard Spahr Receives Inaugural Making an Impact Award from Impact Thrift Stores

6/22/16

Ballard Spahr was recently honored with the first-ever Making an Impact Award from Impact Thrift Stores.

In the past several years, Ballard Spahr has donated nearly 400 hours of pro bono legal service to the organization, advising on employment, business, and real estate matters. Ballard Spahr Pro Bono Counsel Mary Gay Scanlon accepted the award on the firm’s behalf.

The award recognizes the firm’s 13-year-long partnership with Impact Thrift Stores, a nonprofit charity-based thrift store organization with five locations in the greater Philadelphia area. It financially supports local charities through the proceeds generated by its stores.

Ballard Spahr has a long-standing commitment to providing pro bono legal services. In 2015, the firm contributed more than 40,000 hours of pro bono legal services to a range of recipients including nonprofit organizations, low-income individuals, and arts groups.
