Stradley Ronon Insurance Financial and Regulatory Specialist Stephen J. Johnson and Counsel Jana M. Landon spoke at the Association of Insurance Compliance Professionals’ Mid-Atlantic Chapter Education Day in Baltimore on June 13. Johnson, who previously served as Deputy Insurance Commissioner of the Pennsylvania Insurance Department, participated in the “View from the Top” commissioner panel alongside Maryland Insurance Commissioner Al Redmer and New Jersey Assistant Insurance Commissioner William Rader. Landon’s panel, “Cybersecurity Risks,” focused on the latest trends and statistics regarding cyber incidents and data breaches.

Johnson advises on insurance and insurer-related financial transactions with a focus on identifying and addressing insurance regulatory issues. He works with clients on the insurance regulatory implications of mergers, acquisitions and joint ventures; implementation of new regulatory requirements; reviewing transactional documents for insurance regulatory issues and possible alternatives; designing and developing presentations to regulators; and creating and assessing workout options for troubled companies.

Landon is founder and chair of Stradley Ronon’s e-discovery and data security team. Her practice focuses on advising lawyers and clients on legal, technical and strategic issues regarding cybersecurity, electronic data, and data management. She also represents clients in complex insurance coverage matters.
