JENKINTOWN, Pa.--(BUSINESS WIRE)--National Philanthropic Trust (NPT), the largest national, independent public charity that manages donor-advised funds, and one of the leading grantmaking institutions in the U.S., is pleased to announce the appointment of two new members to its Board of Trustees.

Their combined experience in finance, law and corporate governance is impressive and we welcome their voices to NPT’s board as we continue to support our donors’ interest in furthering philanthropy around the world.”

Julius Green, CPA, JD, is a retired tax partner with Baker Tilly Virchow Krause, LLP, one of the 10 largest accounting firms, where he acted in a number of leadership roles and held a seat on the Firm’s Board of Directors. Prior, Green spent years with two Big Four accounting firms and two major universities. He holds more than 30 years of experience working with or advising tax-exempt organizations.

Upon retirement, Green accepted a role as a part-time Business Fellow with the Villanova School of Business Department of Accountancy. He also joined the Board of Directors for Benefits Data Trust and has continued his work on the Board of Directors for the Pennsylvania Institute of Certified Public Accountants Foundation.

Green earned his Juris Doctorate from The George Washington University National Law Center and both his Master’s in Business Administration with a Finance concentration and Bachelor of Science in Accounting from the University of Baltimore.

Diana Sands has over 30 years of experience in finance, accounting and governance across complex industries. She retired from the Boeing Company in 2020, where she led multiple groups including ethics, compliance, corporate audit, security and global real estate. As a member of the executive council, Sands reported to the CEO and the audit committee of the Board of Directors. Previously, she held finance leadership roles including corporate controller, vice president investor relations and vice president financial planning and analysis.

Prior to 2001, Sands held roles at General Motors, Ameritech Communications, Helene Curtis and Arthur Andersen. She serves on the board of Start Early (previously the Ounce of Prevention Fund) as Treasurer and Chair-Elect.

Sands earned a Master’s in Business Administration from Northwestern's Kellogg School of Management, and a Bachelor of Science in Business Administration from University of Michigan's Ross Business School.
