“Matthew has an incredible track record of leading and developing nationwide sales groups and driving growth,” said Michael Masilonis, Vice President of Sales for Ambu Inc. “We see a significant opportunity for him and his team to quickly build our ENT and Urology single use endoscopy portfolios in the private clinic space.”
Prior to joining Ambu, Pierce was the national sales director at FERRING Pharmaceuticals where he was recruited to develop FERRING’s first Uro-Oncology division focused on advanced cancer treatments. “Ambu recognizes that there is more than $200 million of procedural opportunity with our current laryngoscope and cystoscope platforms in private clinic and private ambulatory surgery centers and we are committed to ensuring that our products are at least present if not the main scope of choice for all ENTs and urologists who use flexible scopes,” Pierce said. “We believe specializing in this way will allow us to bring our cutting edge technology to doctors in their clinic procedures, and that we will be able to help them further enhance the experience for their patients, provide the best protection for both staff and patients, and better meet their workflow needs in today’s dynamic environment.”
Ambu launched the world’s first single-use flexible bronchoscope, the Ambu® aScope™ in 2009. Ten years later, in 2019, over 600,000 Ambu single-use endoscopes were used in more than 3,500 hospitals making Ambu the world’s largest supplier of single-use endoscopes.
