Penn National Insurance Elects Carole Ferrero to Board

HARRISBURG, Pa.--(BUSINESS WIRE)--Penn National Insurance announced today the election of Carole Ferrero as a member of the board of directors of Pennsylvania National Mutual Casualty Insurance Company (dba Penn National Insurance).

Ferrero recently retired from General Reinsurance Corporation, where she was president and global chief underwriting officer.

Board chair Stephen Swanson said: “We are very pleased to have Carole joining our board. Her deep knowledge of the property-casualty insurance business, and the breadth of her experience and executive leadership, will make her a great asset to the company and its policyholders.”

Ferrero started her career at The Travelers Insurance Corporation. She received a BS in mathematics with a concentration in computer science and graduated Cum Laude from Fairfield University. She earned the prestigious designation of Fellow of the Casualty Actuarial Society and is a member of the American Academy of Actuaries. She also completed the Wharton School of Insurance’s Executive Development Program.

Ferrero has served her community of Ridgefield, Conn. as a Girl Scouts leader, and youth sports program leader and coach.
