The Crohn’s & Colitis Foundation announced that Rhonda Bolding of Pittsburgh has been elected to its National Board of Trustees, following six years of service on the Western Pennsylvania/West Virginia chapter board. “I believe service to others is the rent we pay for our room here on earth,” said Bolding. “I am honored to join the National Board of Trustees and to continue working toward finding a cure for inflammatory bowel disease.”
Bolding began her work with the Crohn’s & Colitis Foundation as a team captain in the Guts & Glory Walk in Detroit in 2006. Rhonda has served on the Foundation’s Western Pennsylvania/West Virginia chapter board for the past six years, currently serving as board president. Under Bolding’s leadership, the chapter has elevated awareness of the mission and engaged new volunteers through impactful communication, cultivated new corporate partners, increased chapter board of directors direct giving and created a new signature event, Night of Steel.
“Rhonda is a prime example of the power of volunteers,” said Eric Hecker, executive director of the local chapter. “It is such an honor to work with Rhonda and be inspired by her passion and leadership. We cannot wait to watch her flourish on the National Board of Trustees.”
Bolding has expressed her passion for volunteer work with several organizations and nonprofit boards and committees, including: The United Way of Southwest PA’s United for Children Strategic Planning Committee, Women’s Leadership Council and Tocqueville Society; Ivy Charitable Endowment of Pittsburgh Foundation; The Society for Marketing Professional Services (SMPS); Jack and Jill of America, Inc.; and the Highmark Caring Place. Additionally, she volunteers as a mentor through Communities in Schools of Pittsburgh. Bolding is an active Silver-Life Member of Alpha Kappa Alpha Sorority, Incorporated and a Life Member of Optimist International.
Currently serving as marketing manager at Strada Architecture, LLC, Bolding manages firm-wide marketing and public relations to support the strategic goals and vision of the firm, and to enhance their competitive position.
