Vidyo Names Finalists For 2018 Leaders Innovating Telehealth (LIT) Award

11/1/18

HACKENSACK, N.J.--(BUSINESS WIRE)--Vidyo, the leader in embedded video technology, today announced the three finalists for its second annual Leaders Innovating Telehealth (LIT) Award. The honor recognizes Vidyo customers whose virtual health innovations best exemplify the use of technology to improve patient outcomes, increase access to care, and reduce costs.

The winner of the LIT Award will be determined at the Vidyo Healthcare Summit, taking place this year at the Scottsdale Resort at McCormick Ranch in Scottsdale, Arizona, from December 3rd to December 5th. The finalists will deliver their presentations on Wednesday the 5th, after which attendees will vote for their favorite.

The 2018 LIT Award finalists are:

  • North Memorial Health Community Paramedic leverages Vidyo technology and paramedic services to connect patients and doctors more quickly following discharge from urban hospitals. The program, which focuses on Medicare/Medicaid patients as well as individuals without adequate insurance, reduces physician driving time, saving costs and increasing revenue.
  • Presence Health’s unique telehealth program addresses patients at risk for falling. Leveraging APIs into the Vidyo platform, the “Remote Sitter” program maintains patient safety, reduces fall rates and more efficiently utilizes labor resources. Since its inception in 2014, the program has logged thousands of hours monitoring patients at risk for falls with neither any adverse outcomes nor patient injuries.
  • The Road Home Program at Rush University Medical Center uses the Vidyo platform during the intake and treatment process for veterans obtaining evidence-based treatment for PTSD and other invisible wounds of war. Two-thirds of veterans achieve full remission from moderate to severe PTSD following an intensive three-week outpatient program.

“The results our customers deliver to their communities are hugely motivating to the Vidyo team,” said Gary Schwartz, Senior Vice President, Marketing. “The quality of this year’s submissions was outstanding, and it’s a shame we could only select three as finalists. Their innovative expansion of access to and quality of care is emblematic of the direction that technology and virtual care is taking us.”

Vidyo’s customers will share their successes and inspirational stories during main stage keynote talks and breakout sessions. This year’s event includes a pre-conference Virtual Health Program Design Workshop that will provide participants with an understanding of their virtual health maturity and map an enterprise strategy to specific use cases.

“With the hospitals of the 2020s being designed and built today, healthcare leaders and technology vendors are innovating and architecting the mechanisms by which healthcare delivery will be improved for all,” concluded Schwartz. “The Vidyo Healthcare Summit brings them all together to discuss the future of virtual health.”
