Immune Pharmaceuticals And Bertilimumab: A Work In Progress

Investment Analysis:

Immune Pharmaceuticals (NASDAQ:IMNP) is a clinical stage biopharmaceutical company focused on the development and commercialization of its lead candidate Bertilimumab, for the treatment of Bullous Pemphigoid (BP) and Ulcerative Colitis (UC). It is obvious to most investors that Immune Pharmaceuticals has not been able to get their act together in the last five years, an issue that was addressed by the CEO in a recent press release (see below).

"We made notable progress over the course of 2017. We worked diligently to focus our efforts and establish a clear path forward for bertilimumab and NanoCyclo by implementing our strategic corporate restructuring, prioritizing and segregating our research and development efforts, and strengthening our financial position. We have an excellent team in place to support our two exciting programs and advance the Company, and we are well positioned to have a breakthrough year in 2018. We are grateful to our shareholders for their support and look forward to achieving the milestones ahead of us this year."

In my opinion, the company should also be applauded for admitting their shortcomings and implementing restructuring. Despite my misgivings on the managerial style and potential funding issues of Immune Pharmaceuticals, I decided to write about this company because of the therapeutic potential of the lead drug candidate, Bertilimumab. My goal is to present the scientific facts to facilitate your understanding and you the reader get to make the decision on investment.
