York Traditions Bank (OTC Pink: YRKB), headquartered at 226 Pauline Drive in York Township, has announced the retirement of William R. Hartman from its Board of Directors effective at its September 22, 2016 meeting. Bill's decision to retire from bank board involvement, including his retirement from the board of Royal Bancshares on September 21, is reflective of his desire to continue to provide leadership to the York community and to have more available time with his family.
Mr. Hartman's illustrious banking career of more than three decades began at Hamilton Bank in Central PA and ended as Chairman, CEO & President at Citizens Republic Bancorp in Flint, Michigan where he also served as a Director of the Detroit Branch of the Chicago Federal Reserve Bank. After retiring from banking in 2009, Bill returned to York and served as President, Director and CEO of the York County Community Foundation until 2015. He currently serves as Board Chair of the YCCF. Bill will also continue as Board Chair of the York Symphony Orchestra and remains involved in other initiatives supporting education, economic development, the arts, and social services.
Michael E. Kochenour, Founder, Chairman and CEO, reflects, "Bill generously shared the broad wealth of knowledge from his 37 years in numerous executive leadership positions in banking. He added greatly to this organization, particularly in the areas of governance, strategic growth, and building shareholder value."
Mr. Hartman notes, "I am happy to have contributed in any way I could and look for great things from our community's bank in the future. I plan to continue to be an advocate and champion for York Traditions Bank."
