Benjamin Connors, Esq., of GBCA and Gregory Dunkle, LEED AP, CCM, of Gilbane Building Co. join the board of directors; John Cacciola of Aegis Property Group becomes chairman.
The Eastern Pennsylvania Affiliate chapter of the national ACE Mentor Program has named two industry professionals to its board of directors. Benjamin Connors, Esq., of the General Building Contractors Association and Gregory Dunkle, LEED AP, CCM, of Gilbane Building Company joined the board in September.
Connors is president of the General Building Contractors Association where he leads the association’s advocacy and labor relations efforts for member companies while overseeing safety, education, marketing, and membership activities. He holds J.D. and B.A. degrees from Rutgers University and is licensed to practice law in Pennsylvania and New Jersey.
“GBCA is an important ACE partner and having its president serve on our board connects our program to greater Philadelphia’s labor community,” said ACE Eastern Pennsylvania Affiliate Director Tiffany Millner, AIA, NOMA. “Ben can connect ACE students with more than 300 GBCA member companies, offering exposure to career opportunities in many trades.”
Dunkle is senior vice president and northeast division manager for Gilbane Building Company for which he oversees major commercial and institutional projects in Delaware, New Jersey, and Pennsylvania. He holds a degree in architectural engineering from Pennsylvania State University and has been a past volunteer mentor and board member of the ACE Mentor Program Annapolis Affiliate.
“Greg brings over 23 years of construction experience and a long-term ACE commitment to his role,” said Millner. “As a motivational leader, his presence illustrates to our mentors and students the value of community involvement, discipline, and a positive attitude.”
Dunkle and Connors continue long-term involvement of their respective organizations on the Eastern Pennsylvania Affiliate board of directors.
ACE Eastern Pennsylvania also announces new board leadership roles for the 2016-2017 academic year. John Cacciola has advanced to chairman of the board after previously serving as vice chairman. Cacciola is a partner with Aegis Property Group. Ronald C. Kerins, Jr., CCM, LEED AP, has advanced to vice chairman after previously serving as secretary. Kerins is a principal and financial manager with GREYHAWK. Alex Chan, AIA, LEED AP, is now secretary. Chan is a project manager at Gensler.
