Gregory A. Kelly, president and chief executive officer of the U.S. and Latin America region of WSP | Parsons Brinckerhoff, has been named the 2016 Gallery of Success awardee by Temple University’s College of Engineering.

Mr. Kelly oversees a workforce of 7,500 employees in the U.S. and Latin America that generates nearly $1.8 billion in annual revenue in such markets as transportation & infrastructure, buildings, environment, and industrial and energy. In addition, he is a member of WSP | Parsons Brinckerhoff’s global leadership team, responsible for operations, policy and direction for an engineering and professional services organization of 34,500 employees in more than 500 offices in 40 countries.

Mr. Kelly earned a B.S. in civil engineering and construction technology from Temple. “My experiences at Temple—both in the classroom and in the urban environment that surrounds it—really opened my eyes to the role that cities play, how they function, and how what we do as engineers has a meaningful impact on how those cities operate,” said Mr. Kelly in accepting the award. “I not only learned how to be an engineer, how to design and build projects, but more importantly why we build them.”

Under Mr. Kelly’s direction, WSP | Parsons Brinckerhoff has significant roles on major infrastructure projects throughout the U.S. and Latin America, including the No. 7 Subway Line Extension to Hudson Yards, Second Avenue Subway, East Side Access, 432 Park Avenue, La Guardia Airport Central Terminal, and several high-rise towers at the World Trade Center complex in New York City; the Expo Line 2, Regional Connector and Westside Subway Extension projects in Los Angeles; the 30Street Station master plan in Philadelphia; and the California High-Speed Rail Project.

Mr. Kelly frequently speaks on engineering and construction issues and participates on the executive boards of many leading industry organizations. He testified before Congressional committees on public-private partnerships in 2013 and 2014, gave the keynote address at a 2014 conference on American infrastructure at the Brookings Institution, and participated in a National League of Cities conference at the White House in March 2015, where he took part in a discussion of increasing investment in U.S. infrastructure.

Additionally, he was elected to the National Academy of Construction in 2014 and is a member of The Moles, one of the most prestigious organizations for the heavy construction industry. He is on the executive committee of the Design Professionals Coalition and is a board member of the Association for the Improvement of Americas Infrastructure (AIAI). He chairs the Salvadori Center, a non-profit organization that uses New York City’s built environment as part of its innovative science, technology, engineering and math (STEM) programs to educate and inspire city school children.
