Gladstone Associates LLC today announced that Peter Raimondi has joined the firm as Managing Director. Previously, Raimondi was founder and CEO of Banyan Partners, a registered investment advisory firm with $4.3 billion in assets under management when it was sold to Boston Private Bank in 2014 for a reported $65 million.

Raimondi's experiences as a buyer and seller of RIA firms make him uniquely equipped to counsel other RIAs. A graduate of the Boston University School of Law, he started his financial career in 1986, when he founded The Colony Group in Boston. Starting in 2006, he built Banyan Partners, in part through acquisitions. "I made some wonderful acquisitions and one or two questionable ones. Either way, you have to take ownership of your decisions," he says. "I hope that my addition to the Gladstone team will draw clients who say, 'He's acquired and integrated seven companies in the past six years, and eventually sold his company to a public firm—what kinds of experiences did he go through that we could learn from?' "
