PHILADELPHIA--(BUSINESS WIRE)--Health Partners Plans announced today that President and CEO William S. George will serve as chairperson and present at the 2nd Annual World Congress Innovations in Wellness and Population Health Management Summit in Boston, Massachusetts, later this month.
World Congress offers educationally focused health care conferences and events for senior-level executives from health plans, hospitals and health systems to exchange ideas and explore solutions to industry challenges. The Innovations in Wellness and Population Health Management Summit specifically seeks to examine best practices for implementing and sustaining wellness programs.
On Monday, July 25, Mr. George will kick off the summit with opening remarks. He’ll also lead the panel discussion on “Implement Incentive Programs to Increase Consumer Engagement in Wellness Initiatives.” Mr. George will specifically discuss the success of Health Partners Plans’ enhanced Baby Partners Prenatal Program, which optimized the health outcomes of moms and babies through proactive case management, outcomes-based incentives, special support for at-risk pregnancies and doula services. Health Partners Plans expanded the program through a three-year Health Care Innovation Award sponsored by the Centers for Medicare & Medicaid Services (CMS) in partnership with Finity, Inc.
“I’m honored to chair such a highly regarded summit. World Congress is a leader in the industry as it relates to collaboration and sharing innovative ideas and solutions,” said Mr. George. “I look forward to the opportunity to share our best practices and to learn new ways to engage members and improve their health outcomes.”
“The health care industry has shifted toward a focus on prevention and wellness as a way to improve population health,” said World Congress Executive Vice President Gina Glendening. “Through leadership and innovation, Mr. George is helping Health Partners Plans successfully manage that transition with the implementation of initiatives that not only increase utilization of wellness programs but also decrease health care costs. I’m thrilled to have someone of his caliber and expertise chairing and presenting at this year’s summit.”
The two-day summit will take place at the Seaport Hotel in Boston from July 25 to 26.
