Effective April 1, 2016, Lauren D. Keating has joined Songer Services of Washington, PA as a Manager of Engineering, Projects. Formerly a Director of Engineering Projects for U.S. Steel, Keating brings nearly a decade of hands-on engineering acumen and project management experience with large-scale industrial projects.

"Having worked with Songer in the past, I had a clear understanding and appreciation for what makes Songer different – their people," said Keating. "They are passionate about what they do and bring a unique energy to their work. I am thrilled to have the opportunity to join the group."

Songer Services, a fifth-generation heavy industrial general contractor known worldwide for heavy industrial installation, maintenance and repair, employs over 70 key management individuals, with annual revenues exceeding 100 million dollars.

Keating's hire is part of an expansion of services initiative designed to aggressively win – and then flawlessly execute – start-to-finish general contracting projects for steel manufacturers and heavy industrial companies.

Keating holds a BS in Civil/Structural Engineering from Pennsylvania State University, an MBA from theUniversity of Pittsburgh with a focus on Operations Management, is a Six Sigma Green Belt and a certified Project Management Professional (PMP). She will report to Songer Services COO Gregg Preteroti.

"Lauren's timing here couldn't be better," said Preteroti. "Many of the new engagements we've undertaken in the south are uniquely demanding from an engineering and project management perspective. Having worked with her in the past, we know she'll hit the ground running."
