Deborah Weinstein
Deborah Weinstein, President of The Weinstein Firm, was recently honored with The Legal Intelligencer’s 2016 Lifetime Achievement Award. Ms. Weinstein is among 25 Pennsylvania lawyers who have been recognized for their impressive work in the legal profession. According to The Legal Intelligencer, “Our focus in selecting this group of individuals was to represent the figures who have helped to shape the law in Pennsylvania, whether through their work on the bench, assisting those in need of legal services, building a firm or any other means. We sought to honor attorneys who have had a distinct impact on the legal profession in the state.”
Ms. Weinstein has been a respected litigator, counselor, and thought leader in the area of employment law for more than two decades. She has a national reputation for her work with employers—her forceful courtroom presentations, her sound preventative advice on workforce issues, and her passion for helping to create lawful, respectful, and productive work environments. She combines her acumen in employment law with expertise in day-to-day employee relations and guidance, training, investigations, litigation and management consulting. Her thought leadership extends into teaching, speaking, and writing about people, the workplace, and the law.
A master teacher and trainer, for the past 17 years she has taught employment law as a lecturer at the Wharton Business School’s Department of Legal Studies and Business Ethics. Ms. Weinstein developed the innovative employment law course, The Law at Work: Employment Law for Managers. Ms. Weinstein is former Chair of the Philadelphia Bar Association’s Board of Governors and Editor-in-Chief of the association’s renowned magazine, The Philadelphia Lawyer. She has chaired the association's labor and employment, diversity, and women in the profession committees. Ms. Weinstein received her law degree, magna cum laude, from Temple University School of Law.
Ms. Weinstein designed the firm’s SmartMoves® programs, group and individual anti-harassment and sensitivity training to promote a positive, legally compliant work environment where everyone can thrive.
