Somerset County resident and Rider University alum to oversee talent management initiatives

WithumSmith+Brown, PC (Withum), headquartered in Princeton, has named Theresa Richardson as its chief talent officer, announced Bill Hagaman, the firm’s managing partner and CEO. In this role, the Rider University alum and resident of Somerset County, NJ will be responsible for shaping the vision and strategic leadership of Withum’s talent management initiatives.

Since joining the firm in 1997, Richardson has risen through the ranks to partner. She is a certified public accountant in both New Jersey and New York and is licensed to practice as a public school accountant in New Jersey. Specializing in audits, reviews, tax and consulting services, her industries of concentration have been not-for-profits and educational services as well as manufacturing/distribution/logistics.

“Theresa is well qualified to spearhead Withum’s entire talent lifecycle and identify and implement strategies to acquire, develop and retain the best-in-class talent for which our firm has become known,” said Hagaman. “She is the embodiment of our corporate culture – the ‘Withum Way’ – and we are excited to build upon our talent infrastructure.”

A graduate of Rider University in Lawrenceville, where she serves on the Advisory Council, Richardson earned a bachelor’s degree in accounting. Professional memberships include the New Jersey Society of Certified Public Accountants (NJCPA) and the American Institute of Certified Public Accountants (AICPA). Widely recognized for her professional and community outreach involvement, Richardson was named a “Best 50 Women in Business” in 2013, to Rider University’s Hall of Fame in 2014 and a recipient of Raritan Valley Community College’s Distinguished Alumni Award last year.
